The gift of listening
In a stressful and fast-paced world it’s easy to get lost and get carried away by the chaotic dance of daily life. It can be challenging to be present and listening to one’s heart, and to connect truly and deeply with oneself and the people around.
The cacao ceremony is a gift of listening – to yourself, to others, and to the wisdom within and around you. It is a reminder that in the cacophony of modern life, we often forget to listen, to truly hear the whispers of our heart’s desires, the echoes of our soul’s longing.
Is ceremonial cacao the same as conventional cacao?
In fact, there is a great difference between the conventional chocolate or cocoa powder we usually consume and ceremonial cacao. The cacao consumed in the ceremonies is 100% pure and organic, unprocessed cacao bean mass. In contrast, commercial cocoa powder is defatted, processed, and ripped of the quality and benefits from the raw cacao bean.
If it’s your first encounter with ceremonial cacao, expect to be surprised. The ceremonial cacao carries the energy of the rainforest: Its aroma is a symphony of earthy richness, its taste a bittersweet reminder of life’s complexity.
What is a cacao ceremony?
The cacao ceremony is a portal to the inner realms, a journey through the corridors of the subconsciousness, and a revelation of the hidden aspects of the self. It is a mirror that reflects the beauty and complexity of the human experience, allowing one to confront fears, embrace vulnerabilities, and release the burdens that are no longer advantageous.
- A cacao ceremony is
- an ode to presence and to being present.
- surrendering to the embrace of the moment.
- letting the currents of your soul guide you
- an act of self-love
- creating room for serenity
- an awakening of the senses
- a beautiful and unique opportunity to connect with yourself, those sharing the ceremony alongside you and the world in general on a deeper level
A cacao ceremony is a haven where stillness takes root within the body and mind and allows one to genuinely listen. The cacao gently guides one away from the labyrinth of interfering thoughts and allows one to be present on a gentle voyage into the depths of one’s soul.
Are all cacao ceremonies the same?
Not at all! Every single cacao ceremony is one of a kind and unfolds uniquely for everyone. No to ceremonies are the same – even to the same person: It’s a canvas painted with the colours of one’s soul and the melodies of one’s heart.
The facilitator can shape and deepen the experience of the ceremony by introducing different tools, that enhance the benefits of the cacao. E.g., focusing on breathwork, music or singing mantras together.
Why share cacao ceremonies in groups
Even though it is possible to do a cacao ceremony alone, the magic of the cacao ceremony extends beyond the individual. In our individualised world we often forget that we as humans are intertwined and interconnected.
Sharing the ceremonial cacao makes the group shift their individual energies and hearts into vibrating together on the same frequency enabling a heart-opening, deep, intimate connection to others supporting healing on group as well as individual level.
What to expect in a cacao ceremony?
There is no single answer to what to expect from a cacao ceremony: The experience is influenced by personal background, lifestyle, culture, and state of mind and thus, profoundly personal, and individual.
The ceremonial cacao assists one on a deeply personal voyage, which is why what to expect is unique to every soul. Consequently, there is a wide range of seemingly opposite outcomes: Tears may flow, laughter may erupt, emotions may surge like a wild river, a profound silence may descend like a dead calm.
Ceremonial cacao possesses the power to both stimulate and soothe, leading into the tranquil realms of meditation and igniting boundless creativity. It is a gentle whisper, a loving nudge, an invitation to dive deep into the ocean of one’s own being. On this journey, there is no judgment, no expectation, only a profound sense of acceptance and love.
